Waste limitation
& management:
The use of lighting, heating & air conditioning is constantly monitored to ensure these resources are not wasted whilst not compromising comfort standards
Energy efficient light bulbs are installed wherever possible
All bedroom radiators are fitted with thermo valves
Hotel heating is minimised from spring to autumn
Email communications are only printed when necessary
Advertising & bookings are encouraged via the hotel websites to reduce paperwork
Energy efficient kettles are provided in guest rooms
New plant & equipment is chosen with energy efficiency in mind
Soap dispensers containing Vegan, paraben-free all natural toiletries are used in bathrooms & public toilets to reduce plastic waste
In room menus & literature have been removed & uploaded to a hotel guest website to reduce waste
RECYCLING
All hotel waste paper & cardboard is separated from general waste for recycling
Scrap paper is reused where possible for note taking
Printer cartridges are recycled where possible for charity
Cooking oil is collected by a licensed contractor & recycled or used for bio diesel
All glass and bottles are recycled
Bedroom & restaurant linen is changed at intervals that do not compromise our standards or the comfort of our guests whilst economising on usage
Guests are pro-actively offered the opportunity to assist in minimising energy\chemical consumptions by deciding on less frequent replacement of fresh linen & towelling
Old kitchen & office equipment is recycled by licensed contractors

We offer healthy, balanced & high quality food with all our menus offering at least 25% vegan & vegetarian alternatives
Focus on reducing food waste & segregation of any food waste produced for recycling
Banning the use of overfished species
All eggs used are free range

Charitable donations are made to local charities
Where possible foodstuffs are purchased from local suppliers
Locally produced drinks are stocked and promoted

We conduct business with regard to the immediate neighbourhood and are mindful of light & noise pollution
The hotel is carefully & continually maintained to enhance the overall appearance of the local area
